Jagjit is a contemporary Indian artist, born in District Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India. He holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts and currently serves as an Associate Professor at Chandigarh University. His practice is distinguished by bold and expressive interpretations of light, atmosphere, texture, colour, and form. Through a distinctive approach to drawing and painting, he brings a refined understanding of colour relationships, composition, and visual harmony to his work.

His practice encompasses realistic portraiture explored through diverse styles and mediums, along with drawings and paintings rooted in a contemporary visual language. Alongside these works, he has developed a growing body of conceptualized abstract paintings that reflect his evolving artistic and spiritual concerns. His current series, (Journey of Soul), explores the soul’s passage toward the divine, expressed through more than 45 paintings and drawings dedicated to this theme.
